Earthquake!!!

There's been another big quake in the Pacific rim. Here's the excerpts from Harald Sun News:

A STRONG earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale has hit the southern Philippines, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

No aftershocks were expected from the quake and there was no sign of any possible tsunami, the civil defence office said.

Thank God there were no Tsunamis. Hopefully the casualty report sticks to zero or at at least low numbers.

Is it just me or does there appear to be an awful lot of siesmic activity going on around the Middle East and Pacific Rim lately? There was the one in Iran, the one that made the Tsunami, a smaller one in Turkey and now this. Does anyone know what gives?
