Blog Creation, Readership Rises in 2004...DUH!

Yahoo! News - Blog Creation, Readership Rises in 2004

(This is my first post using the "Blog This!" plugin for Mozilla, Firefox's older brother. It appears that most of the Firefox plugins are available for Mozilla as well. A much better browser if you ask me.)

First, I'd like to congratulate Power Line for being Time magazine's first ever Blog of the year. We've become newsworthy!

Here's some cool stats on us:
Though blog readership jumped, the percentage of online Americans who write blogs grew only slightly — to 7 percent in November, up from 5 percent early in the year. Blog creators tend to be male, affluent, well-educated and young; 70 percent of them have high-speed connections at home, and 82 percent have been online at least six years.

Hmm... only seven percent. We'll have to work on it. Of course, we still don't have that big of a name to most people. Here's another stat:
Despite the attention to blogging, a large number of Americans remain clueless — only 38 percent of Internet users know what a blog is.

We've got 62 percent of America to work on! It shouldn't be too hard for a bunch of young, affluent men with high-speed internet connections!

(Heh..yeah, that was supposed to be a joke.)
