As some of you using blogger are familiar with, there is a major problem with the updating within previous posts. Say, for example, you want to go look at someone's first post. Invariably, that person will have modified their template dozens, if not hundreds of times since then. The problem is that the template will not be updated on the original post. Say you wanted it to be changed. Say you put some strange porno pic as your background and now, heaven forbid, your mother started visiting your site or something. You are stuck. It's there for all the world to see.
Or is it? I've heard a few people complaining about it and I tend to agree that it can be rather annoying. "Where'd all the links go?" "Oh my goodness! Did you really use THOSE colors?" Well, trouble yourself no more. I have found the solution and it is only slightly easier than you would think. All you have to do is publish your post again. It retains the same date but will update your template.
For an example, look at my first post here. It has been updated. Now go to my second post here. It has not been updated. The only problem is that to get them updated you have to re-publish everything. There is no automatic button for it. Anyway, there's the answer.
Now that I think about it there is one more quandary about this: Would changing the layout be like colorizing an old film? Are some things just better left in black and white, or the original style? Or should they be forever erased and the new and improved version be the only flavor available?
