Shiites Win Most Votes in Iraqi Election

When will we ever learn! It's going to be another Iran! THey;'re just going to breed more terrorists now! The sky is Falling! The sky is falling!

In the words of Bugs Bunny: "Shyaddap!"

True, the Shiites have about 140 seats in the 275 member national assembly. The Kurds, the ones that hate us least, get about 75 seats. Allawi's party, the one Kerry called a Bush puppet, will have around 38-40 people in the new national assembly. Lets do the math here: Shiites (maybe U.S. supporters, maybe not)=140, Kurds and Allawi's group (considered U.S. supporters)=115

The big thing here is that in order to pass their new constitution they need a two thirds vote. That would mean at least 182 people would have to agree with the new constitution. Say, for example, the remaining 38 or so members were just plain terrorists that wanted to kill Americans and the Shiite majority was the same way, they would still need every last one of their votes and maybe a couple of the Allawi or Kurd members as well.

This is not the end of the world. This is the begining of Iraq's new and democratic world.
